Practical pet-card guides
Choose a Photo for a Pet Birthday Card
A good source photo should make it easy to recognize your pet before anything moves. Start with one animal and a visible face. Our Samples page includes different cat and dog portraits. Every new photo still needs individual review.
Look for these details
- Eyes, ears and face are visible, with no hand, toy or sticker covering them.
- The image is sharp enough to see facial features when enlarged on a phone.
- The pet is clearly separated from the background.
- The original file is available, rather than only a small screenshot.
- You have permission for the intended use and AI processing.
Photos that need extra care
Several animals in one picture make it unclear which subject should move. Strong shadows can hide fur patterns, while filters may change the appearance before generation even begins. Costumes and collars with dangling decorations can introduce distracting movement. An extreme side profile may conceal an eye or ear that the model then invents. These are reasons for review, not automatic proof that a photo is unusable.
Do not crop away everything around the face
A little room above the ears and beside the head helps when fitting a photograph into a card. Avoid cutting off important identifying features simply to fill the screen. The example card fits the source image inside a birthday frame instead of pretending that a portrait was originally shot for a full-screen story. A different crop is a separate design choice to confirm.
Check permission, not just image quality
If a photographer, friend or image library supplied the picture, check the license. Permission to download or view a photo may not include uploading it to a generation service or publishing an animated version. Keep watermarks unless you have permission to remove them. The website's authorized sample is not a reusable stock photo for visitors.
What to send first
Use the inquiry form with your pet's name, occasion and preferred date. Do not attach a photograph yet; there is no photo-upload field. First agree on photo handling, suitability, scope and delivery. Do not include identity documents, passwords or payment information in a message. You can also use the form for a privacy request concerning an earlier inquiry.
A clear photo improves the starting point, but AI can still change eyes, markings or movement. Exact likeness is not guaranteed. Watch the entire finished clip before sharing it publicly.
